This month we feature Nikos, a Senior Integrated Producer we place in a contract role. Here’s a little about him and why he made it into Interactiveinc’s candidate of the month blog:

My original plan was to be an Astronaut… this was the fallback. Jokes aside though, Where we are today is a meticulous journey that started before we can remember and shaped by people and events that vary so much that we will never be able to accurately pinpoint them. I did not expect to be in this line of work but got here eventually.

Interactiveinc placed me as a Senior Integrative Producer where I ensure that a project is on budget and on time. Producers are the silent hero’s behind every digital campaign. It is not for everyone, you have to be a team player. You have to always be on hand and lead by example. This is no 9-5 job. I also try to ensure that in working within media the work that I’m doing is fulfilling and moral. It is important to create a space for social good and take your values and add them to your work. I try to educate myself, be empathetic, be human, and add my two cents to every project I touch.

The most challenging part of the job is ambition. When you hit 30 you have to make sure you are doing things for yourself. A lot of people are not fulfilled. Managing your ambitions is very difficult as a human and as a professional. Despite this, it is rewarding to see hours of work on a campaign unfold into a story that creates long relationships.

When I’m not working I love to cook, I enjoy long walks on the beach and getting caught in the rain with a Pina Colada. I love doing charity work at camp magic where I mentor, things like that ground you and help you see life for what it really is. What you may not realize when you first meet me is that I secretly judge people that wear activewear and still stand when taking the escalator.

I haven’t always worked in digital but it is ever evolving: the forefront of the future. Who knows where it can take us. We have just scratched the surface, and we already have technology like virtual reality. Digital is the most exciting industry; the only thing holding the industry back is technology infrastructure. We could be living in a society with unlimited fast free wifi anywhere, which would allow the industry to create more full and rich media to our consumers everywhere.
